Woman who spat on police officer and is ‘allegedly HIV positive’ jailed
In Punta del Este, a 26-year-old was arrested for hindering the arrest of her partner, who injured a man with a knife.
In Punta del Este, a woman was convicted of assaulting a police officer and a man was convicted of personal injury. In the case of the woman, the sentence was four months in prison, while for the man the sentence was also four months, but substituted by probation, according to the Maldonado Police.
The events occurred on the night of Friday 18 October. At around 20:30 hours 911 received a call alerting that there was a ‘disorder on public roads’ on Bulevar Artigas street.
The victim, a 50 year old man, had stab wounds to his head.
The aggressor, a 46 year old man with a criminal record, was arrested at the scene, together with his partner, a 26 year old woman, also with a criminal record.
The young woman was arrested for hindering the procedure and offending the police.
Both were taken to the Tenth Precinct, where a police officer filed a complaint against the woman for ‘insulting authority and assault’.
‘During the transfer to the police station, she repeatedly spat in his face, where, allegedly being HIV positive, she assaulted his health’, states the police report of the incident.
The incident was recorded on a Go Pro camera of the Ministry of the Interior.
The prosecutor who worked on the case was Sebastián Robles from the first shift prosecutor’s office of the seaside resort.

Ocurrió en Punta del Este, la joven de 26 años fue detenida por entorpecer la detención de su pareja, que hirió a un hombre con un cuchillo.
La Justicia condenó en Punta del Este a una mujer por un delito de atentado contra un efectivo policial y a un hombre por un delito de lesiones personales. En el caso de la mujer a la pena fue de cuatro meses de prisión efectiva, mientras que para el hombre la pena también es de cuatro meses, pero sustituida por un régimen de libertad a prueba, informó la Policía de Maldonado.
Los hechos ocurrieron en la noche del pasado viernes 18 de octubre. Cerca de las 20:30 horas el 911 recibió un llamado alertando que por la calle Bulevar Artigas había un “desorden en vía pública”.
La víctima, un hombre de 50 años, presentaba heridas realizadas con un arma blanca en la cabeza.
El agresor, un hombre de 46 años con antecedentes, fue detenido en el lugar, junto a su pareja, una mujer de 26 años, también con un antecedente.
La joven fue detenida por entorpecer el procedimiento y agraviar a la autoridad policial.
Ambos fueron derivados a la Seccional Décima, en donde un funcionario policial realizó denuncia contra la mujer, por “agravio a la autoridad y atentado”.
“Durante el traslado a dependencia policial lo salivó en reiteradas oportunidades en la cara, donde, al tener presuntamente VIH positivo, atentó contra su salud”, expresa el parte policial del hecho.
El hecho quedó registrado en una cámara Go Pro del Ministerio del Interior.
El fiscal que trabajó en el caso fue Sebastián Robles de la Fiscalía letrada de primer turno del balneario.
