Resident of Chapayevsk faces criminal responsibility for the infection of a woman with HIV
In Chapayevsk, a criminal case was initiated about the infection of a local woman living with HIV. It is reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Samara region.
In June 2019, the woman appealed to the city prosecutor’s office. According to the applicant, her ex-husband infected her with HIV infection.
As the prosecutor’s office found out, in 2014 a woman lived with a man, whom she later married. In 2019, her condition worsened dramatically, and during a medical examination she learned about HIV. It turned out that the former husband was registered with a HIV-infection since 2013. He knew that he was sick, but he neglected to take precautions and did not inform the woman about the disease.
On June 25, the police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 122 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“HIV infection by a person who knew that he/she had the disease”).

В июне 2019 г. женщина обратилась в городскую прокуратуру. По словам заявительницу, бывший муж заразил ее ВИЧ-инфекцией.
Как выяснила прокуратура, с 2014 г. женщина жила с мужчиной, за которого потом вышла замуж. В 2019 г. ее состояние резко ухудшилось, а во время медицинского обследования она узнала о ВИЧ. Оказалось, что бывший супруг с 2013 г. стоял на учете с диагнозом ВИЧ-инфекция. Он знал, что болен, но пренебрегал мерами предосторожности и не сообщил женщине о заболевании.
25 июня полиция возбудила уголовное дело по ч.2 ст. 122 УК РФ (“Заражение ВИЧ-инфекцией лицом, знавшим о наличии у него этой болезни”).
