An HIV-positive defendant for aggravated sexual assault released
After a deliberation of two days, the judge finally agreed to release X, accused of aggravated sexual assault on two victims, subject to strict conditions.

A man with HIV accused of aggravated sexual assault on two victims has been released on condition not to be in the region of Montmagny, the place of the alleged crimes, and to reside in a house in Montreal that welcomes people with aids.
Incarcerated since his arrest at the beginning of the month of July, X has undergone its survey released Monday, in order to leave detention during the proceedings. After a deliberation of two days, the judge finally agreed to release the 34-year-old male with severe conditions.
The cook in training is accused of having put the lives of two men of 24 and 39 years of age in danger by attacking them sexually. The actions would have been taken between 29 July and 31 October 2016 in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, south of Montmagny. X lived at the time in Quebec and worked in a restaurant, but has since moved to Montreal.
Despite the serious charges, the carrier of HIV was able to regain his freedom on the condition that he reside 24 hours on 24 at the Park House, a resource for people with aids. By the same token, it will be forbidden for X to visit the district of Montmagny, except for the procedures.
Finally, the accused has the particular condition to present “medical results confirming viral load” and prove his medications.
He will return to court on 6 October. He must, however, return to the front of the municipal court of Quebec for 12 charges of fraud.
Sexual Assault: Two Other Complainants against man living with HIV
Two other men filed a complaint against an HIV-positive individual who allegedly had sexual intercourse with partners regardless of the possibility of transmitting the infection.
These additions bring to four the number of alleged victims of X, a 34 years old man. The training cook returned to the courthouse in Montmagny on Monday, where he faced two new charges of serious sexual assault.
The alleged acts were allegedly committed between July and November 2016 and in January 2017 in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, Chaudière-Appalaches. The accused would have lived there for some time after leaving the capital in the summer of 2016.
“Le Journal de Québec” had learned that X had confided in his health to certain members of his entourage and his former employer in Quebec City, who had hired him for a few weeks for the summer period.
X had lived in Montreal for the last few months. He was arrested there on 4 July. Temporarily detained, he must return to court, again in Montmagny, on August 21, to hold his investigation into his release.

«Le Journal de Québec» avait appris que X s’était confié sur son état de santé à certains membres de son entourage et à son ancien employeur, à Québec, qui l’avait embauché quelques semaines pour la période estivale.
X habitait depuis les derniers mois à Montréal. C’est là qu’il a été arrêté, le 4 juillet dernier. Détenu de façon provisoire, il doit revenir à la cour, toujours à Montmagny, le 21 août, pour la tenue de son enquête sur remise en liberté.

X was arrested at his home in Montreal and taken to the Montmagny courthouse where he was charged with two counts of serious sexual assault on Tuesday morning.
The man, a cook by training, is accused to have endangered the lives of two men, aged 24 and 39, by sexually assaulting them, one can read on the act of denunciation. Other complainants could be added. “We continue to meet with people on this issue,” cautioned Ann Mathieu, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

The accused is said to have resided in the municipality of Chaudière-Appalachesfor for some time, before settling in the metropolis, according to the words of a friend, Martine Tremblay. Before that, he worked as a cook in Quebec City for part of the summer.

D’autres plaignants pourraient s’ajouter. « On continue à rencontrer des gens dans ce dossier-là », a lancé de façon prudente Ann Mathieu, porte-parole pour la Sûreté du Québec.

Fraudes
X demeure détenu de façon provisoire. Il doit revenir à la cour, toujours à Montmagny, le 17 juillet, pour la tenue de son enquête sur remise en liberté.
Le trentenaire était aussi recherché par la police de Québec en lien avec 12 accusations de fraude de moins de 5000 $ pour des gestes remontant à avril 2016. Visé depuis par un mandat, il aurait frustré l’École hôtelière de la capitale, à Québec, selon le dossier consulté à la cour municipale.
