UFA, January 10th. / TASS /. The Ordzhonikidze district court of Ufa sentenced a 37-year-old local resident who intentionally infected women with HIV, whom he met on the Internet. He was sentenced to six years in prison in a correctional colony and is obliged to pay the victims 500,000 rubles, according to a report released on Thursday by the press service of the Bashkir prosecutor’s office.
“He was found guilty of HIV transmission to two or more persons, knowing about his illness (part 3 of article 122 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the report says.
It was established that the convict learned about his illness in 2012. From September 2013 to August 2016, he met girls on social networks, on dating sites and got in touch with them. However, he did not warn women about the presence of the disease and intentionally infected them, added the department. As a result, three injured people got sick with the human immunodeficiency virus.
Three more women were infected with HIV before the convict found out about his diagnosis, one of them became pregnant. The defendant did not plead guilty in committing a crime, said the press service of the prosecutor’s office.

УФА, 10 января. /ТАСС/. Орджоникидзевский районный суд Уфы вынес приговор в отношении 37-летнего местного жителя, намеренно заражавшего ВИЧ-инфекцией женщин, с которыми знакомился в интернете. Он приговорен к шести годам лишения свободы в исправительной колонии и обязан выплатить потерпевшим по 500 тыс. рублей, говорится в четверг в сообщении, распространенном пресс-службой прокуратуры Башкирии.
“Он признан виновным в заражении ВИЧ-инфекцией двух и более лиц, зная о своей болезни (ч. 3 ст. 122 УК РФ)”, – говорится в сообщении.
Установлено, что о своей болезни осужденный узнал в 2012 году. С сентября 2013 года по август 2016-го злоумышленник знакомился с девушками в социальных сетях, на сайтах знакомств и вступал с ними в связь. При этом он не предупреждал женщин о наличии заболевания и умышленно заражал их, добавили в ведомстве. В результате три потерпевшие заболели вирусом иммунодефицита человека.
Еще три женщины были заражены ВИЧ до того, как осужденный узнал о своем диагнозе, одна из них забеременела. Подсудимый не признал вину в совершении преступления, уточняет пресс-служба прокуратуры.
