Woman jailed for prostitution with HIV
A Bull Creek woman is in jail in Taney County after being charged with committing an act of prostitution while knowingly having HIV. According to a police report from the Taney County Sheriff’s Office, X, 41, offered an under cover police officer $100 for a full body message and another $50 to perform a sex act.
The officer was following up on information about an advertisement placed on the website Backpage. The ad, for “Lacey body massages” stated: “I live in Branson and give full body massages 7 days week and I take older guys I work 8a.m. to 10pm or if u need someone to talk to I’m easy talk to available now text appts (phone number) or if u been stressed out and need to get away relax make appt with me in call only,” according to the police report.
Two officers later talked to X about the offer she made to an under cover policeman. During post-Miranda questioning, X told police that she moved to the Branson area from Springfield six months ago. She said she had been doing massages for about two years, but did not include sex until after she moved to Branson. The report states that she told police she had performed sex acts with the massage a “couple times,” but she also said that she “didn’t feel comfortable about doing it.”
The report also states she told police that she did not tell her patrons that she had HIV, but she said she always used protection. She told police that she has had HIV since she was 18.
X is charged with the class B felony of an actor knowingly infected with HIV performing an act of prostitution. She is in custody of Taney County Jail on a $50,000 bond. For a Class B felony, the court can impose a minimum of 5 years in prison and maximum of 15 years.
