A migrant who infected his lover with HIV was sent to custody in Kostroma
According to the investigation, the man knew about his diagnosis, but did not take protective measures and did not warn his partner.
In Kostroma, a citizen of a foreign state was arrested on suspicion of contracting his beloved with HIV infection. The measure of restraint for the man was determined by the Sverdlovsk District Court.
“N. is suspected that he, being aware of the presence of HIV infection, aware that he is infected with the human immunodeficiency virus and may be a source of infection of other persons, without warning D. about the presence of this disease, repeatedly entered into sexual intercourse with D. without the use of contraception, thereby infecting her with HIV infection,” the press service of the court reports.
The citizen from Uzbekistan faces up to 5 years in prison for such a crime.

В Костроме арестовали гражданина иностранного государства по подозрению в заражении возлюбленной ВИЧ-инфекцией. Меру пресечения мужчине определил Свердловский районный суд.
«Н. подозревается в том, что он, будучи осведомленным о наличии у него ВИЧ-инфекции, осознавая, что он инфицирован вирусом иммунодефицита человека и может быть источником заражения других лиц, не предупредив Д. о наличии у него указанного заболевания, неоднократно без использования средств контрацепции вступал с Д. в половую связь, тем самым заразив еë ВИЧ-инфекцией», — сообщает пресс-служба суда.
За подобное преступление гражданину Узбекистана грозит до 5 лет лишения свободы.
