A resident of Nikolsk infected a woman with HIV infection and received a suspended sentence. He didn’t protect himself and kept silent about the fact that he was sick.
The man had been registered as infected since 2003, knew both about how the disease was transmitted and about criminal liability for infecting other people.
Despite this, the citizen violated all safety rules. He deliberately concealed the presence of infection from a woman with whom he regularly had sexual intercourse without using protection. As a result, the partner also got infected and was registered in the dispensary.
A criminal case was opened against a resident of Nikol. He pleaded guilty.
The court took into account the man’s personality, the presence of mitigating and the absence of aggravating circumstances and handed down a sentence.
“He was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year suspended with a probationary period of 2 years,” the Nikolsky District Court said.
