A man was arrested for donating blood with HIV in Santiago
A man was arrested, after being a fugitive for six years, accused of having donated blood infected with the HIV virus in a Santiago hospital using the identity document of a brother of his, which led to the spread of AIDS from a young mother to the that you had a transfusion.
The 39-year-old man known as “Duckling” managed to remain a fugitive in the city of Mar del Plata, but was recently located in the city of Termas de Río Hondo, where he was detained under house arrest.
The case, according to information released by the city’s daily El Liberal, began in 2005 when the man had his father ill and at the hospital they asked him for blood donors. Without confessing his condition as a patient with AIDS and with a brother’s document, “Duckling” managed to donate blood.The infected blood was transfused to a young woman from the town of La Banda, who became ill with AIDS and is currently receiving treatment.Once the way in which the young woman was infected was established, a criminal case was initiated in which the head of the Hemotherapy Service and three technicians of the Regional Hospital were prosecuted for culpable injuries, damage to health and spread of dangerous diseases.

Detuvieron a un hombre por donar sangre con VIH en Santiago
Un hombre fue detenido, luego de permanecer seis años prófugo, acusado de haber donado sangre infectada con el virus VIH en un hospital santiagueño usando el documento de identidad de un hermano suyo, con lo cual propició el contagio de sida de una joven madre a la que se le practicó una transfusión.
El hombre, de 39 años y conocido como “Patito”, logró mantenerse prófugo en la ciudad de Mar del Plata, pero recientemente fue ubicado en la ciudad de Termas de Río Hondo, donde quedó detenido bajo arresto domiciliario.
El caso, de acuerdo con la información difundida por el diario El Liberal de esta ciudad, se inició en 2005 cuando el hombre tenía a su padre enfermo y en el hospital le pidieron donantes de sangre. Sin confesar su condición de enfermo de sida y con el documento de un hermano, “Patito” logró donar sangre.La sangre infectada fue transfundida a una joven de la localidad de La Banda, que se enfermó de sida y hasta la fecha recibe tratamiento.Una vez que se estableció la forma en la que se contagió la joven, se inició una causa penal en la que se procesó al titular del Servicio de Hemoterapia y a tres técnicos del Hospital Regional por lesiones culposas, daño en salud y propagación de enfermedades peligrosas.
