Thus, the head of department, a doctor and 3 nurses at this establishment were sentenced to 18 months in prison and a fine of 10 million centimes for “Negligence and falsification of official documents”, reports the Ennahar Online site.
It should be recalled that in this case the civil party had requested the maximum sentence against the defendants.
Genesis of a scandal of 4 years of age!
The case dates back to 2016 when a young 26-year-old mother was admitted to the public hospital, Meslem Tayeb, to undergo a caesarean section. When she came out, she found herself HIV-positive.
According to her testimony, she contracted HIV through a blood transfusion during surgery. Since then, the young mother has gone through an ordeal, even though the staff who operated on her never acknowledged any wrongdoing. “I don’t want money or anything. I just want those responsible to be judged for their negligence and lies,” she said in a moving testimony given to the private TV station Ennahar TV in July 2019.

Ainsi, le chef de service, un médecin et 3 infirmières au niveau de cet établissement ont écopé de 18 mois de prison ferme et une amende de 10 millions centimes pour « Négligence et falsification de documents officiels », rapporte le site Ennahar Online.
Rappelons que dans cette affaire la partie civile avait requis la peine maximale contre les prévenus.

L’affaire remonte à 2016 quand une jeune mère de 26 ans est admise dans l’établissement public hospitalier, Meslem Tayeb pour subir une césarienne. En ressortant, elle se retrouve séropositif. Soit, porteuse du virus du SIDA !
Selon son témoignage, elle a contracté le VIH lors d’une transfusion sanguine rendue nécessaire pendant la chirurgie. Depuis, la jeune maman vit le calvaire alors que le staff l’ayant opérée n’a jamais reconnu son tort. «Je ne veux ni argent ni rien. Je veux juste que les responsables soient jugés pour leur négligence et leur mensonges », avait-elle déclaré dans un émouvant témoignage accordé à la chaîne privée Ennahar TV en Juillet 2019.
